THE REFINED is a modern catering company from Munich, founded by Michelin-starred chef Stefan Barnhusen. Coming from the world of fine dining, he brings fresh energy and true craftsmanship into the catering scene with THE REFINED.

01 Private Dining
Fine dining redefined – THE REFINED brings exclusive culinary experiences into private settings and extraordinary locations. We create bespoke, Michelin-level menus and take care of every detail so our guests can enjoy an unforgettable evening — personal, exclusive, and truly unique.
In addition, we cater to UHNW clients, offering luxury BBQs, dining experiences in private villas, and exclusive yacht catering. Our private chefs master a wide range of culinary styles and design each menu individually. We take into account dietary preferences, number of guests, and the duration of the yacht charter, while remaining flexible to adapt to weather conditions, route, and occasion.
02 Event Catering
THE REFINED makes events unforgettable — with catering that perfectly matches the occasion and leaves a lasting impression. Whether it’s a corporate event, wedding, gala, or reception, THE REFINED develops the ideal culinary concept, individually tailored and meticulously planned down to the smallest detail. From creative finger food and modern flying dinners to elegant banquets.

THE REFINED gives classic street food an umami upgrade and brings fresh vibes to every event. Uncomplicated and 100% flavor-maximized. Using regional ingredients, we serve authentic street food highlights with a real wow factor.

THE REFINED supports restaurants and companies in developing innovative food concepts. From menu and product development to process optimization and sustainable strategies, we create culinary concepts that inspire and deliver strong economic results.
Our offering also includes tailored training sessions and workshops — from head chefs to entire teams. The goal is to provide hands-on development, establish sustainable quality standards, and ensure long-term success.

THE REFINED sucht erfahrene Köche und Köchinnen, die mit Leidenschaft und Präzision hochwertige Gerichte aus frischen, saisonalen Zutaten zubereiten möchten. In unserem Cateringunternehmen stehen Qualität, Innovation und Frische im Mittelpunkt – ob bei privaten Dining-Erlebnissen, exklusiven Events oder Yacht-Caterings. Du bringst eine abgeschlossene Ausbildung als Koch/Köchin oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation mit und hast idealerweise Erfahrung im Fine Dining oder hochwertigen Cateringbereich. Kreativität, Zuverlässigkeit und Teamfähigkeit zeichnen dich aus. In which regions does THE REFINED operate?
Our headquarters are in Munich, and many of our projects are carried out within the region. However, we are flexible and adapt to the location of your event. Simply let us know where your event is taking place in your inquiry — we will be happy to review individually whether we can support you on site.
What types of events does THE REFINED cater?
Whether it’s a business event, gala, trade fair, or private highlights such as weddings or birthdays, THE REFINED develops a tailored food concept for every occasion — perfectly aligned with the atmosphere, guests, and location.
Does THE REFINED also provide service staff?
Yes, upon request we provide trained service staff to ensure a smooth event operation. Availability depends on your event date — please coordinate with us as early as possible.
How far in advance should THE REFINED be booked for an event?
The earlier, the better — ideally at least 2 to 4 weeks before the event. For larger events or elaborate concepts, we recommend an even longer lead time to ensure everything can be perfectly planned and coordinated.
How many guests can be accommodated for Private Dining?
Private Dining is ideal for small groups of 2 to around 12 people. For larger groups, we are happy to create customized solutions upon request.
Is the Private Dining menu prepared on-site?
Yes, we bring all ingredients and necessary equipment and prepare the menu fresh directly at your location.
Who is Food Consulting intended for?
It is designed for restaurants and companies that want to further develop, restructure, or reinvent their culinary offerings with innovative concepts.
What does Food Consulting include?
From concept development, menu planning, and cost calculation to training and process optimization — we offer comprehensive consulting. In addition, further customized services are available upon request, tailored to your specific needs.
